Manipur has been named as the “champion state” for the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY) in the state in informative-cum-knowledge webinar organized by the Press Information Bureau in association with Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED).

Since the launched of PMVDY in 2019 by the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in Manipur, 100 Van Dhan Kendras have been formed including 1557 self-help groups.

Around 30189 tribal entrepreneurs in 14 forest division and VDKs have sold their products worth up to 49.10 lakh rupees.

What stands out for Manipur is the food and hygiene standards adopted by the 100 Van Dhan Kendras and the attractive packaging of the process products such as Amla Juice, Tamarind amla candy and plum jams.

TRIFED appreciated the fact that a mobile van service has been started in one of the districts of Manipur to ensure the selling of these products.
