Weather warning in Northeast India

GUWAHATI, Aug 10, 2017: Monsoon showers will continue to batter Northeast and other parts of India in the coming days even as weather warning has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on various places in the region which will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall today and tomorrow.

However, it may be mentioned that despite heavy rainfall in isolated places, the region is still reported to be rainfall deficient.

According to the forecast predicted by IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Sub­Himalayan West Bengal & the 8 states of Northeast India besides other isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya  Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.

It was informed that Southwest Monsoon will remain active on August 10 and 11 where heavy to very heavy rainfalls is expected to hit isolated areas over Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
