Poacher held in custody spills the beans

ASSAM: There have been many poachers who have been apprehended in recent months and Tilak Bora a poacher who has been arrested several times and let out on bail has spilled the beans on how he was involved in a transaction where he sold a rhino horn for Rs.65 lakhs in a local market in Dimapur.

He has again been arrested for the poaching of another rhino in Kaziranga National Park which took place during Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma. He confessed how a horn in the international market can range from 1 to 3 crores and how poachers come from mainly Manipur and Nagaland who camp at Karbi Anglong and wait for the moment to kill the endangered animals.

In the past two weeks, five poachers have been arrested by the police which have increased their operations to help eradicate the menace of poaching.
