Nagaland: Assam Rifles recovers arms, other stash of equipments

KOHIMA: Troopers belonging to the Assam Rifles(AR) in a joint operation with Nagaland Police have recovered war stores and other incriminating documents pertaining to insurgency related activity from a house of a suspected NSCN-R cadre in Old Mangaki village of Tuensang district.

Through a press release by the PRO of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles(North), it was noted that the 5th Assam Rifles carried out a search operation along with police representative in Old Mangaki village, Tuensang district on May 30.

During the operation, house of V Akum Sangtam, a suspected NSCN (R) cadre was searched. One 9mm carbine with magazine, one point 22 rifle with magazine, two radio sets, one hand grenade, three non-electronic detonators and other incriminating documents were recovered from the house which were likely to be used for vitiating the peaceful environment in Tuensang district,

However, no arrest could be made in this connection.
