North Eastern Council (NEC) offers financial aid for Meghalaya returnees

Applications are invited from the citizens of Meghalaya, who have returned to the state on account of COVID-19 pandemic for financial assistance under the project 'Livelihood and Gainful Employment' funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC).

How to Apply: Application forms can be obtained from the offices of the General Manager, District Commerce and Industries Centres.

The forms can also be downloaded from the Department website: www.megindustry.gov.in

Application forms should be submitted to the Office of General Manager, District Commerce and Industries Centres on or before October 19, 2020.

Eligibility Criteria:

The person should be 18 years of age as on March 1, 2020, to be supported with a birth certificate/admit card. There will be no upper ceiling of the age limit.

The person should be a permanent resident of Meghalaya. Local returnees should furnish Schedule Tribe Certificate and returnees belonging to other communities should submit the Permanent Residential Certificate issued by competent Authority.

Other non-local returnees should submit the up-to-date Trading License from the respective District Councils.

Returnees who returned to the state after March 1, 2020, should submit the Declaration in Non-Judicial Stamped Paper.

No bar specified for education qualification and income level.
