Meghalaya | Warning issued against polluting rivers, streams in Ri-Bhoi district

The District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh, has prohibited hotels, dhabas, industries and other such institutions from practising any activity that would pollute rivers, streams and other water bodies.
The prohibition, which comes under Section 144 CrPC, will punish anyone who has the intention to cause destruction of aquatic lives and aquatic bodies in the district.
The order comes into force with effective immediately.
