Meghalaya SSA teachers pin hope on CM’s meet with MHRD for fulfillment of pending demands

The Meghalaya SSA School Association Central on July 6 called on the Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and discussed two important issues regarding allocation of funds from State Budget for payment of SSA teachers' pending dues and problems of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) Programme for first batch 2013-15 and second batch 2015-17.
Aristotle C Rymbai President of Meghalaya SSA School Association Central Body on his statement issued here today informed, after the Association submitted the representation to the State Government on  June 15 on the two important points regarding allocation of funds from State Budget for payment of SSA teachers pending dues which includes payment of three months salary of current academic year for the month of April, May and June and eight months Arrear Salary of Financial year 2016-17 and problems of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) Programme for first batch 2013-15 and second batch 2015-17, the delegation of the Association on July 6 met the Education Minister for discussion on the issues.
He (Lahkmen Rymbui) informed, "the delay of the State Government to release the salary of current academic year to the SSA teachers is due to non release of Adhoc installment to the Govt of Meghalaya by Ministry of Human Resources Development Govt of India and added that he is concerned about the problems faced by SSA teachers every now and then due to irregular release of salary and the State Government trying its best to find out permanent solution to the problems. Rymbui  also added the Education department had sent a proposal to the Finance department, Govt of Meghalaya for allocation of funds from State Budget to SSA-SEMAM for payment of SSA teachers salary for two months and is under process so that the teachers can manage their livelihood for the time being till MHRD Govt of India released the funds to the State Government.
"The Education Minister also informed, he have wrote to the Chief Minister for allocation of funds for payment of SSA teachers Arrear salary for the financial year 2016-17 at the earliest possible date which also remains pending for almost 2 years" Rymbui had assured us to solve the matters at the earliest, A. C. Rymbai said.
Rymbui also informed, the delegation of the State Government led by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will leave for New Delhi to meet the Competent Authority of MHRD on 18,19 and 20 this month for release of funds for implementation of SSA programme to Meghalaya and other issues related to SSA Teachers. The delegation will also meet the Competent Authority of NIOS for discussion on the problems of  the D. El. Ed Course for first batch 2013-15 and second batch 2015-17, Rymbai added.
Aristotle C Rymbai also said his conversation with the Chief Minister who is in New Delhi informed that the State Government is trying to get the funds released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development Govt of India in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, the Association requested all the SSA Teachers to be patient. The Association will meet the Chief Minister after his return from New Delhi
