The cadre, identified as Raksim Ch Momin (Arikam, 22) was earlier a part of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) and had joined the outfit in 2012 as part of its 5th batch.

Momin had left the GNLA to jointly found another outfit, ASAK along with Reding T Sangma. He hails from the village Dinangre in Williamnagar and surrendered to the superintendent of police, Vivekanand Singh in WGH in the presence of family and Church members.
