Assam Rifles DG reviews law and order situation in Manipur

The Director-General of Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan, visited Manipur on Wednesday to review the present security situation, including law and order in the state.

Sangwan, along with the Inspector-General of Assam Rifles (South), Major General Alok Naresh, visited the far-flung field formations and interacted with troops deployed in the forward locations of the state.

During the visit, the Commander of 10 Sector Assam Rifles, Commandant Somsai Battalion and Commandant of Chassad Battalion briefed the Director-General on the latest prevailing security situation and operational preparedness.

They also briefed him on the efforts by the Assam Rifles in Manipur on COVID-19 preparedness.

Meanwhile, Sangwan lauded the level of operational preparedness and help provided by the troops of Assam Rifles and the Army during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He complimented the Assam Rifles troops in Manipur for carrying out a commendable job by efficiently managing the security situation in the state.

He also commended them for carrying out people-friendly operations.
