All Tribal Students Union Manipur calls for timely election of ADC

The All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) has urged the Manipur Government to hold the election of the ADC (Autonomous District Council ) on time and has appealed to the State Government to respect the recommendation and decision of the HAC (Hills Area Committee) failing which the ATSUM has said that it will hold necessary agitation along with its affiliated organizations in the state.

Speaking to media on Monday, SR Andrea, who is the General Secretary of ATSUM said that the tenure of the ADC was deferred for another six months from June 1, and will be ending on November 30.

He further added that on the recommendation of the Hills Area Committee (HAC) in January 2020, the state cabinet had extended the tenure of the ADC.

Altogether, Manipur has six autonomous district council (ADC) namely Churachandpur, Sadar Hills, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Senapati and Chandel.
