Extortion activities busted in Arunachal Pradesh; TSSF, ULFA(I) cadre held

Keeping up the tempo of the ongoing crackdown, the Changlang Battalion of Security Forces undertook an operation in Margherita area of Changlang District on Saturday morning and apprehended one Nongbu Singpho, a Self Styled Private of Tai Singpho Security Force (TSSF) working with ULFA(I).

Based on specific intelligence about presence of one cadre trying to terrorize and attempting extortion, the Changlang battalion swiftly launched an operation and apprehended the Self Styled Private from Sagunbar.

According to Defence sources, post spot interrogation, the arrested militant admitted allegiance to Tai Singpho Security Force (TSSF) and ULFA(I). He further divulged that he has been active part of the outfit since 2014 and has undergone intensive training in Myanmar.

"In the present heightened security situation, the Security Forces under DAO DIVISION has been carrying out extensive operations in south Arunachal Pradesh to keep the area peaceful and out of clutches of insurgents," said the official source adding that  the Security Forces has been carrying out aggressive operations in the South Arunachal Pradesh and this apprehension has struck a blow to the extortion activities being carried out by the underground cadres of the group in the area.
