Northeast Frontier Railway to run ‘festival special’ trains from October 20

GUWAHATI:

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate seven ‘festival special’ trains to clear the festive rush of passengers from October 20 to November 30, 2020, an official statement issued here on Wednesday informed.

The trains to be run under NFR are:

02517/02518 Kolkata-Guwahati-Kolkata Tri-weekly special express;

02505/02506 Kamakhya-Anand Vihar-Kamakhya daily special express;

02513/02514 Guwahati-Secunderabad-Guwahati weekly special express;

05611/05612 Guwahati-Silchar-Guwahati Tri-weekly special express;

02343/02344 Sealdah-New Jalpaiguri-Sealdah daily special express;

03141/03142 Sealdah-New Alipurduar-Sealdah daily special express and

09601/09602 Udaipur-New Jalpaiguri-Udaipur weekly special express.

The date of operations of these special trains will be notified shortly.

The Union railway ministry has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of ‘festival special’ trains by Indian Railways during October 20 and November 3, 2020.

“The fare for these trains will be the same as that applicable for special trains. There will be no unreserved coaches in the train. Passengers must download the Aarogya Setu App and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains,” the statement said.

“Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets may enter the railway station/board the train,” it added.
