Assam: Swine Flu cases on the rise, 15 instances reported from Guwahati alone

GUWAHATI: Cases of Swine Flu have been continually increasing in Assam. More than 15 cases have been reported in Guwahati itself. 

As per local media reports, death from the virus-based disease has also been reported in the city, including that of a 52-year old woman. 

In addition to Guwahati, patients affected by the H1N1 virus have also been reported from Nalbari, Karbi Anglong, Baksa and other districts of the state. 

Swine influenza virus (SIV) or swine-origin influenza virus (S-OIV) is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs.
