Assam MLA gets challan for illegal parking in Guwahati, fined

GUWAHATI | February 26, 2020:

In Assam, a legislator from Bharatiya Janata Party's Duliajan, Terash Gowalla, was fined for violating traffic rules in the capital city of Guwahati on February 25.

According to local media reports, the MLA had come to visit the Chief Engineer's office of PWD at Chandmari in the afternoon and parked his vehicle at a no parking zone.

Following which the traffic police constable of Chandmari police station clamped the vehicle and issued a challan.

Later when Gowalla arrived, he asked the on-duty officer to remove the clamp and allegedly tried to physically assault him.

However, the legislator was fined when the senior officer reached the spot.
