Assam: Massive protests welcome AASU attack accused Subodh Biswas!

GuwahatiMar 23:Kingpin of the AASU office attack in Silapathar on March 6, Subodh Biswas along with another accused Subhash Biswas was brought to Guwahati Wednesday evening.

Situation turned volatile as thousands of AASU activists blocked the road from the LGBI airport demanding that the Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samannay Samity leader be hanged. The AASU activists also reportedly clashed with the police.

Subsequent to this the accused duo were taken to the Suhasini Guest House at the 4th Assam Police Battalion headquarters in Kahilipara.

Both Subodh and Subhash were arrested 16 days after the duo evaded police from the date of the incident. They were arrested from a remote village in North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, located close to the Indo-Bangla border.

Both the accused were produced before the Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM), Bongaon in North 24 Parganas, which allowed them seven days transit remand.

The court after perusal of the certified copies of the first information report (FIR) and the warrant issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dhemaji, also directed the investigating officer to submit the compliance report before the court within seven days.
