Assam: KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi to hold indefinite hunger strike in jail from March 1

GUWAHATI | February 25, 2020:

Akhil Gogoi, leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), said that they would continue to hold an indefinite hunger strike which will be held within the jail from March 1 next.

According to local media reports, Akhil Gogoi, Dharjya Kinwar, Bitu Sonowal and Manash Konwar who were produced at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on February 25 said that the fight against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will continue and have asked people to continue with the agitation.

The supporters of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief have also put up huge banners in front Eiffel Tower in Paris demanding his immediate release.

It is to be mentioned that, the police had arrested Gogoi on December 12, 2019 in Jorhat, a day after the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed in the Parliament.
