Assam: 3.5 magnitude earthquake rocks Karbi Anglong

GUWAHATI, June 25, 2018: A low intensity earthquake shook Assam's Karbi Anglong and neighbouring areas on Sunday night.

The quake was registered at a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter Scale around 9:28 pm (IST) by the Indian Meteorological Department.

It was felt in Nagaland, Manipur, lower and upper Assam, parts of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, eastern Bangladesh and north-western Myanmar.

A preliminary report updated by the IMD informed it was recorded at a depth of 16 km.
