8 police officers injured after a brawl with youths in Tripura

Tripura: Eight police officials including three Tripura State Rifles (TSR) Jawans were injured during an altercation with some youths at a tribal dominated locality in Santir Bazar Sub Division of South Tripura District.  Six youths were arrested and will be in police custody for three days.

The eight injured police officers were identified as Manindra Debbarma, Babul Debnath, Raju Debnath, Toly Majumder, Bijoy Kumar Ghosh, Kamal Kumar, Bijoy Kumar Sil and Ram Prasad are taken to Tripura Sundari District Hospital in Gomati District for medical attention. Manindra was referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala today morning due to his critical condition, told one police officer.

The youths were creating a disturbance while being intoxicated at Manindra Reang Para of Kalma area Baikhora Police Station last night. Getting the information, a contingent of police authorities led by Sub Inspector Manindra
Debbarma rush to the spot immediately. When they step in to solve the matter, the intoxicated youths attacked them leaving all the eight police officers with severed injuries.
