IN PICTURES: Imphal comes alive on 1st day of Night Plaza

October 3, 2017: Nightlife in Imphal has received a boost with the launch of a night plaza along the Kangla moat, providing opportunities for boating and holding music concerts along with 110 stalls, including those serving indigenous cuisine every weekend. The government plans to keep the plaza open everyday during Sangai Festival, a 10-day annual festival organised from November 21 every year to promote tourism. The aim of introducing the night plaza is to promote nightlife in the state to attract investors and tourists. The government wishes to depict the state as peaceful and free from militant violence, as any other city with a buzzing nightlife. It claimed that law and order in the state has improved considerably. The new plaza will stay open every weekend from 7 pm till 10 pm.
