ASSAM: The state will be the first in the Northeast to become a science hub as the newly formed BJP government is committed to make sure that they make good on the promise of a “Science city” in the state. Assam is the fourth state in the country who will have this honour.
The city will be set up at Teeposia, Sonapur and will cost approximately Rs 110 crores. the city will have a space theatre, fun-science gallery, thematic galleries and even a digital panorama apart from other features.
Once the project is sanctioned, construction will start immediately. The science city has been long due with many problems which were seen mainly as semantics but with a new government at the helm, things seems to be moving in the right direction.
