Guwahati, Jan 3: When considering the move towards a digital economy, a village in Assam also considered as the first digital village would receive a huge boost to build its basic infrastructure as a model village.
Railway MoS Rajen Gohain today announced Rs 1 crore for developing Chatanguri, Assam ‘s first digital village, and its adjoining areas as model villages.
Gohain, the local MP, visited Chatanguri in Morigaon district.
Chatanguri is the first digital village of the state where all the villagers and shop keepers are accustomed with the cashless transaction after demonetization.
Gohain announced Rs 1 crore from MP Areas Development Fund to build Chatanguri and adjacent villages as model villages with all basic infrastructures.
