Assam CM wants doctors round-the-clock in state

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has asked the state Health Department to ensure that all hospital in the rural and  districts always have doctors on call and around the clock.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary today told the Assembly that one of the first priorities of the new BJP-led government is to ensure people of rural and remote areas get treatment at the appropriate time.

There is a shortage of doctors all around the country and the rural areas have been affected the most.Many doctors in the state are reluctant to serve in the rural areas which has caused the wide shortage in the number of doctors.
