The son of late Dorjee Khandu, the Chief Minister whose untimely death in a chopper crash which initially led to the instability in Arunachal Pradesh ,Pema Khandu has emerged as a dark horse to become a contender for the post of Chief Minister in the politically troubled northeast state .
Unconfirmed sources are saying that Pema khandu has emerged as a Chief Ministerial candidate as many leaders feel that he is someone who can keep his flock together and unlike Kalikho Pul will be able to provide leadership to all communities.
Pema Khandu a graduate from Hindu college has twice been elected as the MLA but never really contested a ‘election’ as he has always been ‘elected’ unopposed .
Nabam Tuki on the other hand is going all guns blazing and it is understood that the Congress is not averse to dissolving the assembly if they lose the floor test so that a fresh election can be called.
It is also understood that after the historic judgement in the Supreme Court Governor Rajkhowa may also exit the state in a graceful manner and be shifted to another state .
