AGARTALA, APRIL 13 2017: As per the commitment of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Assam State BJP committee today handed over a cheque of Rs 5 Lakh to the family members of party’s tribal leader of Tripura Chanmohan Tripura of Gandacherra in Dhalai district who was allegedly murdered in December last year.
BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb today handed over the cheque to the wife of Tripura and reiterated that BJP would not leave the accused involved in killing of Chanmohan. BJP alleged that Chanmohan Tripura was killed by ruling CPI (M) cadres at Dalapati area of Gandacherra. The party held series of agitation demanding CBI probe into his death in past few months including civil disobedience followed by a mammoth rally seeking justice last month here where Sonowal addressed.
Deb alleged that MLA Lalit Mohan Tripura was involved in the killing and afterwards they identified Chanmohan as lunatic adding that police did not take any action against any of them and in next election it would be issue in hilly parts of Tripura.
Claiming the by-poll results announced today in different states including West Bengal as impressive Deb stated that traditionally anti-BJP people have also now started shifting their allegiance towards BJP across the county and in next assembly election in Tripura would be no difference. “Every day hundreds of voters from other parties have been joining BJP, and CPI-M by now lost a massive vote bank in interior parts of the state. In next year election BJP is determined to come in power with comfortable majority. The executive council meeting in next two days at Bhubaneswar will discuss the poll strategy for Tripura,” Deb added.
