AGARTALA, April 14, 2017: A total of 127 Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists were arrested on Friday while they were in sit-in-demonstration at Agartala’s Orient Chowmuhani for the last three days demanding Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s resignation over illegal teachers’ recruitment row. However, they were released later on.
Besides, the Yuva Morcha started the indefinite stir since April 11
with the demand of alternate source of livelihood to the total 10,323 teachers who were terminated due to illegal recruitment procedure of the Left government by violating Right to education Act – 2009, and employment for more than seven lakh unemployed youths etc.
“The Yuva Morcha were given three days to conduct their movement. Despite their day is over today, they continued to stir. Seeing no way, we have to arrest them. Later they were released,” SP Police Control – Dilip Roy said. The Yuva Morcha sought 10 days time-period for the sit-in, but the police granted them only three days. “We will continue our movement in this regard till our demands are fulfilled,” BJP Yuva Morcha chief Tinku Roy said.
