Tripura: TIPRA-INPT MDCs sworn in, BJP boycotts oath-taking ceremony

The newly elected TIPRA - The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance MOTHA and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) MDCs took oath as members of the District Council in Tripura on Monday, April 19. 

The oath of office ceremony was held at the ADC Bhavan in Agartala. 

Royal scion and TIPRA chief Pradyot Manikya Debbarma confirmed that Purna Chandra Jamatia will be the next Chief Executive Member (CEM). 

A three-member Advisory Committee, to be led by the TIPRA chief, will be formed to advise and look after the functioning of the ADC.

It may be mentioned that nine Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates and one Independent boycotted the oath-taking ceremony in protest against the post-poll violence.

The newly elected CEM and the executive members will take oath on April 20 at the ADC auditorium.
