Mizoram reports zero wastage in COVID-19 vaccine

The Union government has shared data in an RTI, which shows that Mizoram is one of the eight states with zero wastage of COVID-19 vaccine. The other seven States includes Kerala, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Assam has reported 7.69 per cent wastage and Manipur has reported 7.80 per cent wastage.

The Union government has also stated that the "Government of India, from its share, will allocate vaccines to States/UTs based on the criteria of (the) extent of infection (number of active Covid cases) and performance (speed of administration). Wastage of vaccines will also be considered in these criteria and will affect the criteria negatively."
