Manipur woman fined for travelling with fake COVID-19 report

A woman from Manipur’s Thoubal district was travelling with a fake COVID-19 report on Monday.

The woman, identified as 21-year-old Wangkhem Rabina Devi, was travelling from Hyderabad to Imphal via Kolkata with a fake COVID-19 negative test report.

The order issued by Thoubal District Magistrate N Bandari Devi stated that a fine of Rs 2,000 was imposed as a penalty for violating guidelines under the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of COVID-19 Guidelines) Regulation, 2020.

It also stated that Devi must execute “a bond with sureties for her good behaviour for six months under Section 110 of CrPC, 1973.

Devi had also tested positive for COVID-19 on April 21.
