DIBRUGARH:

The Dibrugarh district administration on Sunday issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for reopening schools from Classes VI to XII in view of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.

According to the SOP, students of pre-primary and primary classes will take online classes according to the academic calendar.

Both pre-primary and primary classes in all government/provincialised/private schools will remain closed till May 8.

It may be mentioned that public health interventions to minimise the risk of COVID-19 are included in the generic preventive measures which must be followed by all teachers, staff and students.

The Dibrugarh district administration constituted a task force under each revenue circle in the district under the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

This task force will comprise officers from the District Administration, Police Department and the Municipality Board/Town Committees of the district.

The task force will monitor whether the COVID-19 guidelines are followed in public places or not.
