Assam: Lower primary schools to remain closed amid surge in COVID-19 cases 

The DDMA, Assam, announced that all lower primary schools from class I to class IV would remain closed w.e.f April 19, 2021.

The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Assam, announced that all lower primary schools from class I to class IV would remain closed w.e.f April 19, 2021, until further notice.

Monday’s announcement comes in view of the rising COVID-19 cases in Kamrup Metropolitan District and applies to both government and private schools.

The number of positive cases is on the rise in Assam, with over 639 cases reported in the last 24 hours.
