Shillong, April 15, 2017: Northeast India has yet another feather in its hat of achievements as Shillong lady Rashmi Uppal has bagged the 2nd runners up Crown at the Mrs. India 2017 Queen of Substance. Rashmi Uppal originally hails from Shillong but represented National Capital Delhi.
Speaking to TNT- The Northeast Today News, Rashmi said that it was a matter of great joy for her to be selected into the dignified pageant and she owed this success of hers to her up-bringing in Shillong.
“I started out by working as a Child Artist for All India Radio in Shillong. As I grew up, I then worked as an Anchor for many events and still continue to do so in my social circles. I have also participated in Beauty Pageants earlier and won the titles of Miss Fresher in College and the Miss North East as Second runner-up”, Rashmi added.
Mrs India – Queen of Substance aims to create & empower role models who will serve as ambassadors to Charity, enrich the perceptions to beauty, and enhance a new strength, energy and spirit for the advancement of women while positively impacting their communities. This is a pageant that provides married women with a platform where they get an opportunity to make a difference to the world. All Mrs. India – Queen of Substance holders would be widely recognized as successful women in the Country. The event was held at at ITC Welcomhotel, New Delhi on April 14.
