Manipur:In a Historic move Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam appointed as Indian hockey Captain for Olympics

In what will surely considered as a historic move Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam has been appointed as the captain of the Indian woman’s hockey team.

Born in 25th of February 1992 Sushila is a constant fixture for the Indian team and has been rewarded for her consistent plays and team spirit .

This is first time ever in the history of Olympics that our Women’s Team has qualified and it is indeed a matter of great honor for all of us.

Many years ago a frustrated Manipuri stalwart Thoiba Singh had alleged that he was not made the captain of the 1988 Olympics because of a lobby which supported Pargat Singh from Punjab.

Sushila Chanu led the Indian junior team to a bronze medal finish at the 2013 Junior World Cup at MönchengladbachGermany
