Voting for the sixth phase of  West Bengal assembly elections begins in 43 constituencies across four districts.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to exercise their franchise in large numbers amid a raging second wave of COVID-19.

"The people of West Bengal are voting to elect a new assembly. On the sixth phase today, urging those whose seats are polling to exercise their franchise," Modi tweeted.

Polling in the assembly election will be completed with the eighth phase on April 29, and the votes will be counted on May 2.
