ITANAGAR, March 13 2017: Minister of State incharge of Hiome Affairs, Kiren Rijiju on Monday stated that the March 6 incident where an Arunachal youth was allegedly beaten up by his landlord in Bengaluru, is very saddening.
In his tweet, Rijiju said “My office is pursuing this case. When we are talking of the safety of Indians abroad such incidents in our own country are very saddening.”

Rijiju also holds the society responsible for such hatred and intolerant acts meted against the people from the Northeast.
It was on March 6 when a Fourth Semester student of Christ College University in Bengaluru, Higio Guntey who is the son of Higio Yame, Executive Assistant Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly assaulted by his house owner in Bengaluru. The owner was also accused of asking Guntey to lick the owner’s shoes.
The student was first allegedly abused by his house owner on the evening of March 6 and was later beaten black and blue for the petty reason that Guntey was using extra water.
Higio said that the house owner verbally abused me for using extra water on Monday. Two hours later, i.e. at 7 pm, owner who was drunk is said to have banged the door and started beating up Guntey for almost an hour.
