The 16th batallion of Shasastra Seema Bal (SSB) posted in Sashipur border in Chirang district of Assam set an example of humanity by coming to the rescue of an ailing villager by raising money to secure medical aid for his treatment.
The villager, identified as Narzary aged 52 years of age had been ailing for a long time due to which his wife seeked the local troop for medical aid due to the fact that their village was situated in a remote area along the Indo-Bhutan border.
Sunil Kumar, the SSB post in-charge immediately took cognizance of the matter whereby he requested a wireless message to a village called Amteka which is 8km away for a local ambulance.
The SSB men also contributed and raised Rs. 11,000 for the person’s treatment who was then taken to a hospital situated in Bongaigoan at Lower Assam.
