Assam railway station among top 10 cleanest stations in India; Ghy improves maximum in cleanliness index!

May 19, 2017: In a rather big achievement, Assam’s Rangiya Railway Station under the the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone has been declared as the country’s 7th cleanest ‘A’ category railway station. It may be mentioned that in the previous year, it was ranked 78th.

However, it may be brought to light that the NFR as a whole has slipped down three spots in one year to finish as the dirtiest in the country. Among the stations in the region under the NFR zone, Silchar is the dirtiest whose national ranking is 392 among 407 stations.

The survey also mentioned that Guwahati, the region’s biggest station and one of the only two A1 category stations in the NFR, has improved the maximum in cleanliness index  taking a leap from 353rd spot in 2016 to 37th in 2017.
