Assam: Former APSC chairman Rakesh Paul granted bail in one of the many cases!

Guwahati Apr 21: Arrested former chairman of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Rakesh Paul has been granted bail in a case lodged against him at Dispur Police Station. The bail was granted since Dispur Police failed to submit a chargesheet against the APSC scam prime accused within 90 days of stipulated time.

The tainted former APSC chairman, however, will remain behind bars since he has not been granted bail in the main cases lodged at Dibrugarh police station.

A complaint was lodged against Rakesh Paul by a person named Anupam Nath at Dispur police station, accusing the arrested former APSC chairman of taking Rs 3 lakh from him promising a government job in return. He was, however, not given the job since he did not pay the remaining amount of Rs 15 lakh that Paul demanded from him.
